Abstract

This study aims to discuss the scenario of Higher Education Teaching in the area of health in times of pandemic of Covid-19. This is an integrative review with a search carried out from May to July 2021 in the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Nursing Database, Spanish Bibliographic Index in Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online and Scientific Electronic Library Online. For the search, the following descriptors were used: 'teaching', 'education' and 'coronavirus'. The inclusion criteria were defined as: articles based on primary studies, published in English, Portuguese and Spanish, related to the investigated theme and without a time frame. Fifteen productions were included for synthesis. The critical and in-depth analysis made it possible to organize the results by semantic similarity, which allowed the construction of two thematic categories: a new teaching-learning model and the use of educational technologies and emergency distance education: barriers and facilitators. It is inferred that the current public health scenario requires from Higher Education Institutions a process of transformation, adaptation and exercise of creativity to deal with emergency remote education and the use of digital technologies.
