Nursing in Primary Care in the light of breast cancer prevention

Abstract

Identify the actions of nurses in Primary Health Care for the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. Integrative review conducted in three databases using the descriptors Nursing in Primary Care, Oncology Nursing, and Breast Neoplasms, from which, at the end of the search, a total number of 15 eligible articles were obtained.Over the years, the Single Health System (SUS) has walked positively, improving the quality of care and guiding the professional nurse for better care in the workplace, requiring skills such as providing health care from the moment of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. The highlighted typologies were Nursing in Primary Health Care, which is the nurse's action at the SUS entrance door, and Breast Cancer Prevention in UBS, which is responsible for the quality of life and longevity of the enrolled population. The really effective fight against breast cancer depends on many factors, and it is worth mentioning the work of nurses in the prevention and maintenance of health.

Maria Luíza Rêgo Bezerra, Universidade Paulista

PhD student in Bioethics (Postgraduate Program in Bioethics at UnB). Master in Nursing from the Postgraduate Program in Nursing at the University of Brasilia (UnB), Specialist in Public Health Management with Emphasis on Public Health and Family (INESPO-PUC/SP) and Nurse from the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA), Imperatriz-MA campus. She has worked in Primary Health Care with emphasis on educational actions in prenatal care, childbirth and puerperium, as well as neglected diseases, in addition to other programs that encompass preventive assistance in Public Health. She has experience in the area of Nursing, with emphasis in Collective Health, Epidemiology, Physiology, Legislation of the SUS, Communicable Diseases, Systematization of Nursing Care, Patient Safety, Public Health, working mainly on the following topics: leprosy, nursing diagnoses, taxonomy II of NANDA-I, Nursing Theories, Orem's General Theory. Reviewer of the periodicals Revista en Investigación y Educacion en Enfermería Universidad de Antioquia and JMPHC | Journal of Management & Primary Health Care. She was an Officer of the Brazilian Navy working in the Nursing Division as a Nursing Supervisor and in charge of the Patient Safety Center of the Naval Hospital of Brasilia. She is currently Professor Adjunct / Professional III of the Course of Nursing at the University of Paulista (UNIP), Brasilia-DF campus in the disciplines: Management in Nursing; Managerial Practice in Hospital Health; Nursing in the Surgical Center; Propaedeutics and the Process of Care in Adult Health and Clinical Practice and was Substitute Professor of the Course of Nursing at the University of Brasilia (UnB) in the disciplines of Management in Health Services, Work Process and Experiences 4 and 7. She is currently taking the lato sensu specialization in Nursing in Stomal Therapy at the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health.
