Educational technology in pediatric intensive care unit: construction of nursing routine scans

Objective of the study was to build a manual of nursing routines for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Methodological research, carried out from May to September 2021 and focused on the construction of an Educational Technology to be used to assist Permanent Health Education for the nursing team working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. For this, four steps were carried out, namely: bibliographic survey, content selection, textual elaboration and diagramming. The study resulted in the elaboration of a manual entitled “Guide for PED ICUs”, which highlights topics on Anamnesis and Physical Examination; Vital Signs Parameterization; Neurological Assessment; Insertion of Nasogastric/Nasoenteric Tube; Insertion of Indwelling Bladder Catheter; Invasive Blood Pressure; Intra-Abdominal Pressure; and Central Venous Pressure. It is concluded that, as it is a low-cost tool, it is expected that this technology can assist in the correct conduct of the nursing team in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, with the improvement of the organization of care provided to the patient.
