Writings that come from there: Writings as an antiracism methodology in the center for human rights and health of the LGBT population (NUDHES)

The objective of this article is to present a theoretical-methodological study that discusses writing as a possibility for constructing an anti-racist methodology in Public Health. Inspired by the author's experiences at the Center for Research on Human Rights and Health of the LGBT+ Population (NUDHES), the text analyzes the ethical, epistemological, and political implications of situated writing, which recognizes the relevance of narratives as a constitutive part of scientific production. Based on dialogue with Black authors such as Conceição Evaristo, Sueli Carneiro, Barbara Carine Soares, and Patricia Hill Collins, as well as feminist critiques of objectivity formulated by Donna Haraway and Audre Lorde, the article proposes to understand writing not as a fixed technique or method, but as an epistemological gesture capable of shifting the way science and health care are conducted. The text reflects on the formative experiences at NUDHES with Black trans women and transvestites, discussing how these interactions strain hierarchies of knowledge and challenge the prevailing parameters of scientific neutrality.
