Injerto gingival libre - Análisis del área donante: Revisión de la literatura

El injerto gingival libre es un procedimiento ampliamente establecido en la cirugía plástica periodontal, esencial para obtener calidad, cantidad, anchura y grosor de encía queratinizada. Su indicación es importante tanto para la estabilidad de los implantes (específicamente, el tejido queratinizado para la salud periimplantaria) como para la prevención y el tratamiento de las recesiones gingivales en dientes naturales. La deficiencia mucogingival en los dientes puede provocar inflamación, malestar estético, hipersensibilidad, caries radicular y dificultad en el control del biofilm. Actualmente, el injerto de tejido conectivo autógeno del paladar se considera el tratamiento de referencia ("goldstandard") debido a su previsibilidad para la cobertura radicular y sus beneficios para el mantenimiento y pronóstico en cirugías periodontales. El conocimiento de la anatomía palatina es de suma importancia para que el cirujano dentista aplique de forma segura la técnica quirúrgica elegida durante la incisión, respetando las zonas nobles. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las condiciones del sitio donante en los injertos gingivales libres.
