Una aplicación de entrenamiento funcional para niños: Una relación de experiencia

Resumen

El presente estudio es un relato de experiencia sobre la aplicación del entrenamiento funcional (EF) en niños (6-12 años) matriculados en clases de tenis en Manaus durante 1 año. El objetivo fue analizar la contribución de esta metodología al desarrollo de jóvenes tenistas, combinando la vivencia práctica con la evidencia científica. Las sesiones de EF, realizadas dos veces por semana, se centraron en fuerza, agilidad, equilibrio y coordinación. El análisis de los resultados, basado en observaciones e informes, reveló ganancias significativas en cuatro categorías: desempeño motor (mayor velocidad, precisión y control corporal); desempeño técnico en el tenis (mejora en la precisión de los golpes, saques y estabilidad postural); participación y motivación (entusiasmo, interacción social y adhesión a la práctica, impulsados por el carácter lúdico del EF); y prevención de lesiones y conciencia corporal (fortalecimiento del core y ajustes espontáneos de la postura). Se concluyó que el EF es un recurso pedagógico eficaz y placentero en la iniciación deportiva del tenis, promoviendo la formación integral del atleta al integrar el avance físico, técnico, motivacional y la seguridad.
