La suplementación oral con colágeno y sus efectos en la piel

Resumen

El proceso de envejecimiento afecta negativamente a la piel debido a cambios en las proteínas que componen sus tejidos conectivos, más concretamente el colágeno, objeto principal de este estudio. El presente trabajo consiste en una revisión de la literatura con un enfoque cualitativo. Se utilizaron las bases de datos Pubmed, Medline, LILACS, Scielo y Google Scholar. Los estudios han señalado la absorción del colágeno a través del intestino, su distribución en los tejidos y la acción de estimular la actividad de los fibroblastos. Se observaron efectos beneficiosos sobre la calidad estética y funcional de la piel relacionados con la ingesta del nutracéutico sin complicaciones asociadas.
