Impacto en el rendimiento académico de estudiantes de primer grado de enfermería: relación de los niveles de estrés, cortisol y alfa-amilasa salival en la enseñanza de la anatomía humana

Resumen

El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar los niveles de Cortisol salival y Alfa-amilasa, relacionándolos con el nivel de estrés y rendimiento académico de los ingresantes de la carrera de Enfermería, durante la primera evaluación práctica de la disciplina de Anatomía Humana. Se realizaron procedimientos de recolección de saliva antes y después de la aplicación de la evaluación práctica de Anatomía Humana. Las concentraciones de Cortisol salival y alfa-amilasa fueron evaluadas por el método ELISA. Se utilizó la versión corta del Cuestionario de Evaluación del Estrés en Estudiantes de Enfermería. Resultados: Se observó que la concentración media de cortisol salival fue de 0,421 ± 0,076 µg/dL y la final de 0,572 ± 0,096 µg/dL, caracterizándose un aumento significativo del 35,8% (p<0,0001). Resultados similares se observaron para las concentraciones de alfa-amilasa salival (Inicial: 100,70 ± 7,37 U/mL y Final: 135,64 ± 10,85 U/mL), con un aumento significativo del 34,7% en la concentración (p<0,0001). El índice de evaluación permitió identificar tres factores explicativos (conductuales, estresores y organizacionales). Para el factor estresor explicativo se observó un nivel moderado en el 53% de la muestra. Además, se observó un alto nivel de estrés con respecto al factor explicativo organizacional en el 80%. Se observó un pico promedio de cortisol de 36,5 ± 9,6 % (Final - Inicial %) y porcentaje de rendimiento académico de 75,9 ± 16,4 %, lo que demuestra la influencia negativa del porcentaje de niveles de estrés en el rendimiento de los participantes. Conclusión: La ansiedad ante los exámenes de evaluación genera resultados negativos en el rendimiento académico.
