Estrategias educativas capaces de promover una cultura de seguridad del paciente en el entorno quirúrgico

Resumen

Objetivo: Mapear estrategias educativas capaces de promover una cultura de seguridad del paciente en el ambiente quirúrgico. Método: Revisión de alcance con base en la metodología propuesta por el Instituto Joanna Briggs. Las búsquedas se realizaron de marzo a junio de 2022, en seis bases de datos, por dos revisores independientes. Se incluyeron artículos originales en inglés, portugués y español publicados entre enero de 2016 y febrero de 2022. Resultados: La muestra final estuvo compuesta por 16 artículos elegibles. La mayoría de los artículos se publicaron en 2018 (4; 25%) y 2021 (3; 18,7%), con origen en Estados Unidos (5; 31,2%), Países Bajos (3; 18,7%) y Canadá (2; 12,5%).). Las estrategias educativas más destacadas fueron la formación, seguida de vídeos y simulaciones. Las estrategias educativas identificadas buscaron promover, presentar, capacitar y mejorar las habilidades de los profesionales de la salud en relación a las prácticas asistenciales y así contribuir a la promoción de una cultura de seguridad en el ambiente quirúrgico. Conclusión e implicaciones para la práctica: El estudio mostró que las estrategias educativas empleadas promueven la integración y participación del equipo de salud. A través de la formación, buscan la mejora y apoyan la difusión de una cultura de seguridad.
