Probióticos: Una guía práctica para la prescripción personalizada

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo proponer una guía práctica para la prescripción personalizada de probióticos y prebióticos manipulados, basada en evidencia científica, relacionando cepas específicas, patologías y dosis eficaces. Se realizó una revisión narrativa con enfoque integrador, mediante una búsqueda bibliográfica en bases científicas (PubMed, Scopus, Embase) y documentos técnicos de referencia (OMS, FAO, EFSA), en el período comprendido entre 2010 y 2025. Se incluyeron ensayos clínicos aleatorizados, revisiones sistemáticas y consensos técnicos. Se seleccionaron 24 cepas probióticas y 6 prebióticos con uso clínico documentado. Los datos se organizaron en una tabla resumen que relaciona patologías específicas con simbióticos recomendados (probióticos + prebióticos) y sus dosis efectivas (Cuadro 1). Se destacan: Lactobacillus plantarum y Bifidobacterium infantis para enfermedades gastrointestinales; B. lactis y L. gasseri en síndromes metabólicos; L. helveticus y B. breve en trastornos emocionales; P. freudenreichii en afecciones inflamatorias; L. crispatus en salud ginecológica; y B. breve y E. faecium en pediatría. Las dosis oscilaron entre 1×10⁸ y 1×10¹⁰ UFC/día, según la condición clínica y la cepa. La prescripción simbiótica manipulada y personalizada, fundamentada en la correlación entre patología, cepa y dosis, representa un enfoque prometedor dentro de la medicina integrativa, favoreciendo intervenciones clínicas más seguras, eficaces y basadas en evidencia.
