Anestesia en odontopediatría: sistemas alternativos y convencionales. Una revisión de la literatura

Resumen

Las intervenciones odontológicas pediátricas sin duda deben ser realizadas con un enfoque importante en la manera de aplicar la anestesia, a fin de ocupar el sistema más adecuado para cada caso. Sobre esta premisa, el presente estudio ha sido realizado con la finalidad de identificar y determinar cuál es el mejor sistema de aplicación de anestesia en odontopediatría, si los sistemas alternativos o los sistemas convencionales. En cuanto a la metodología, el presente artículo científico fue desarrollado bajo una metodología de investigación descriptiva soportada en la búsqueda electrónica de estudios realizados previamente en varios repositorios digitales relacionados con las ciencias médicas, como PubMed (Medline), Science Direct, Scopus, Redalyc y Google Scholar. Adicionalmente, se trabajó con un enfoque mixto y un diseño de investigación no experimental. Como resultado se ha podido determinar que los sistemas alternativos han presentado variaciones importantes que ayudan a que el paciente se sienta cómodo dentro de los procesos odontológicos que requieren anestesia, sin embargo, después de haber analizado todos los aspectos correspondientes a la anestesia en odontopediatría, se puede afirmar, que no existe un solo sistema como el mejor sistema anestésico.
